Day 88: A bit of a summary

*carries on 100 happy days posts like she didn’t randomly stop at day 46, left a massive gap and carried on like nothing happened*

Okay yes, I stopped writing posts after day 46 but it’s not because I suddenly got really depressed, gave up on happiness and decided to live in an isolated box with no internet and human interaction.

In fact, it’s the opposite really, the past few days  have probably been my happiest by far, like genuinely… Happiest ever ever, so maybe they were too happy for my blog to handle and that’s why I didn’t write…

(okay I was just too lazy to write lol).

Anyway, I would love to write about all of the things that have made me happy this past month but there honestly is too much, so this post is basically going to be  a very quick (I say quick but its probably going to be a 2000 word essay with referencing)  summary of this past month as well as a reflection of my first year at uni,

Warning: there is a slight chance of philosophical and emotional moments in this post, if this is not something you are prepared for, please stop reading right now. Like… Just stop reading, you might cry, and i’m not about the whole making people cry life (if you are one of my friends reading this, you may think otherwise)

So yesterday was my very last day at my uni accommodation and everyone was moving out (or else we would’ve probably been kicked out).

I have to admit, it was a weird day because the only things that tend to go through your mind are how much everything has changed since the first day you moved into the place.

I mean, I would have never assumed on my first day that on the last day I would have no cutlery left.

Truly life changing experience.

Not to forget, who would’ve known that the packet of pasta purchased on day 2 would still be sitting exactly where it was placed the day it was bought, next to the unopened box of PG tips .(I don’t drink much tea but I thought uni life was going to change that).

I started my year with a ridiculous amount of optimism about finally enhancing my cooking skills and perhaps even successfully using a toaster.I went in all prepared with my saucepans in 3 different sizes, potato peeler, grater, chopping board, a fine selection of knives and other high-tech cooking utensils that I was oh so excited to use.

But after an unfortunate turn of events, the only thing that came to any use was my pizza cutter (which someone stole anyway).

On the bright side, I’m sure dominos had a good year.

University life was definitely not what I was expecting it to be, however it undoubtedly wasn’t a disappointment either. I can truly say that I have met people this year who I genuinely will be friends with for the rest of my life.

I would like to thank my accommodation for being the reason why me and my friends found each other(I’m so cute)…so yeah, thanks!

Reflecting back on the year also really makes you appreciate all the downs, because even those moments ended up leading to something good. It’s been amazing seeing peoples characters develop over time  and being able to learn from them. I never expected for a bunch of people to have this much of an impact on my life, but I guess they’re just that special (okay too much nice-ness, i’ll stop now oh god).

I think that’s me done with my emotional part, now I move on to craziness. This year has been super duper crazy:

Countless nights out filled with drama, falling off stages at ministry of sound, running away from guys when they looked the other way just before taking your number, throwing up all over floors, almost missing physics exams, paying £80 for a boris bike, winning baking competitions, becoming a journalist (kinda), spontaneous trips to m&m world, so many cheeky nandos that every time you hear the word cheeky now you HAVE to associate it with nandos (im kind of sick of the word cheeky tbh),countless  missed lectured due to a dangerously messed up sleeping pattern, over consumption of desserts and chocolate, post clubbing mcdonalds, deep conversations until 5am in the morning about human existence and the current economy, drunken flat nights with £120 worth of alchohol, naked men in boats at regents canal, tears, confrontations, laughter, death, missed boat parties at the thames, surprises, 21 truths taken to extreme levels, too much pizza, midnight monopoly madness, exams, life, stolen milk, throwing chairs, online shopping gone wild, oxford street, more shopping, more drama and last but not least…selfies.

If you dont at least have 2 albums on facebook that are full of pictures of you and your friends before nights out in the kitchen during pre pres, did uni really happen?

the answer is clearly no

Obviously passing the first year of uni was important too..kind of.

Leaving yesterday was sad because even though I only lived at the place for less than a year, so many memories were created inside that very  building, and so many of those memories were probably life changing, even in the long run (as cliche as that may sound). Its crazy to see how much has changed but I personally wouldn’t want it any other way!

-the end-

you may all cry now

Day 46: St.Pauls and tower bridge

I love life.

Carrying on with the London tourism life, me and my friend visited St.pauls and tower bridge, I was also shown around random bits of London and had an amazing view of the shard!

It was so super duper cool! I even got a very great picture of myself posing with a wonderful silver ball ( i really like shiny round things) and the cathedral behind me!

During the day, I had a sudden urge to buy myself a hat… I mean, it was sunny, I had sunglasses, was wearing summery clothes, all I needed was a hat!

So we found a h&m and I discovered some hats but none of which suited  me.. And then I came across the most amazing thing…

I BOUGHT A BEAUTIFUL FLOWER HEAD BAND WHICH I WILL NEVER STOP WEARING NOW!

Oh wait, I forgot to mention, the day actually started with a water crisis at my accommodation… THERE WAS NO WATER TO BE SEEN ANYWEHRE.

I have to admit though, it was pretty funny seeing everyone run to tescos and buy millions of bottles of water because they were all obviously going to dehydrate….

Nevertheless, you will be happy to know that the water did start working again and all harmony was restored!

I also bought myself some scented candles to create a nice relaxing atmosphere for post exam stress relief… It’s working!!

so prettyy right?

Day 45: day one of freedom

Since I am now officially free from exams, I thought I would fully utilise my freedom today!

My day started with me waking up, eating breakfast, going back to sleep again, waking up, eating lunch, going back to sleep again and then waking up again to get ready! (please dont judge my sleeping habits)

The first thing that made me happy today was my hair. Yes, my hair. I went to sleep in rubber curlers last night and took the curlers out in the afternoon and OMG  my curls turned out so well!

Next I had a wonderful lunch and made my way to uni to meet my friends!

I would say that we are a pretty adventurous trio since whenever we are together we end up doing random crazy things.

It all started with going to sainsburys just to get some snacks, this turned into a full on food shopping spree and plans for a picnic at Hyde park.

As we got to Hyde park, we enjoyed the picnic and ate lots of food (mini cheesecakes(lots of cheesecakes actually) cookies, crisps etc). I ALSO BOUGHT MYSELF SOME BUBBLESSS.

Whilst the other two were talking about taking illegal substances, I was absolutely fascinated and deeply engaged with watching two squirrels chase each other around the park!

Next we took a nice stroll along a really big lake at hyde park where I saw the cutest ducks and swans, one of the ducks was actually standing on just one leg which was pretty impressive.

Towards the end we found a very secretive yet pretty shelter place and walked around talking about trees and which ones looked the nicest (idk why but it was a lot more fun than it sounds), although i would probably say that since trees are life

In general it was a very relaxing, chilled out and fun day and the thought of having more of them from now on is making me so very happy!

YAAAAY

Day 44: the day I survived

So my last exam was today, and I’m very happy that it’s all over now but, today may or may not have been the worst start to a day I’ve ever had in my 18 years of existing.

It all actually started when the fire alarm at halls went off at midnight, disrupting my peaceful night before exam! I went to bed at 3 after some last minute revision and felt fairly prepared for the exam!

The exam was at 10 and I planned out my route the night before and got everything ready, I even set 15 alarms to wake me up at 7am.

Little did I know that my day was going to go downhill dramatically…

After having slept through all of my alarms I woke up at 9:30 (my exam started at 10). As the panic started to hit me, I ordered an uber the moment I opened my eyes and rushed out of my room! The first unlucky event of the day was my uber cancelling on me and having to wait another 10 minutes for a second one to arrive (it was already 9:50 at this point and there was no way I could make it on time).

As soon as I got into the car I asked the driver how long it would take and he told me 30 minutes max. I may have started crying. Not only did I prepare for this exam a ridiculous amount, I also did not want to miss it because lets be honest…who likes missing exams.

My friends were really amazing at keeping me kind of sane and making sure I was calling up the right people and letting them know what was going on. I have some pretty wise friends tbh, they really were helpful, so that made me feel a bit better!

To still have a chance of taking the exam I was told that I had to arrive at the exam hall by 10:30, this didn’t seem like a problem since the driver kept reassuring me that we would make it.

On the way, the route we were taking seemed a bit weird but I didn’t think much of it since I was too engaged with worry and panic and car sickness (I get really travel sick).

It was 10:28, we arrived. I was going to make it….until I realised the driver took me to the wrong destination. Instead of taking me to ‘old ford road’ I was in fact at ‘old road’. Which is in the completely wrong part of London and there was no way I could make it to my exam.

The actual exam hall was another half an hour away from where we were and I pretty much just felt like leaving the car and going to the nearest tube station and making my way there myself.

However the driver assured me it would be quicker by car (he just wanted a higher fare) so I agreed. Although this was not good for my car sickness as I had to ask him to pull over several times so that I could be sick. (Yay me).

It was 11 and I finally made it to my actual exam hall in East London (I really dont know why our exam venues are so ridiculously far away). The first thing I did was run into the toilets since I was still feeling sick and wanted to see the state of me (I looked like a vampire, a wet one because it was raining).

My phone was also dead by this point so I couldn’t let any of my friends know about what was happening which was terrible

Luckily I found an invigilator and I talked to a few people at the exam hall and they wrote down my details and gave me a very important blue sheet that I had to take back to uni and hand in to the people who were examining me.

The blue sheet had to be in by 12 (that’s when the actual exam finished), it was 11:20 and I rushed to the nearest station.

I was running, it was raining and my blue sheet was getting wet but still alive. Just as I was about to get onto the train, a sudden stream of wind hit me and blew the sheet out of my hand. I ran after it but it was too late. IT FELL ONTO THE RAILS.

At that point I was pretty much done with life and wanted to give up, go home and sleep. If my luck was THIS bad, surely it just wasn’t meant to be. I ran around the station like a lost kid , trying to find someone to help me get the sheet, but it was too late anyways. THE SHEET WAS GONE. I WAS DONE.

Nevertheless, I still got into the train that took me to uni in the hope that someone could help me.

Again running in the rain and getting to uni just to be redirected from person to person was not great. Since my exam was a physics exam, I was directed to the physics department where I was in tears because the stress got to me and my hair volume increased by a scale factor of 100. How does one do an exam with non-fabulous hair

The examination ladies talked to each other, looked at me, talked some more and finally came to the conclusion that I could sit my exam.

HOORRAAAH

It was 12:10, the actual exam was over and they literally made an exception for me! I wanted to hug the lady, but I was kinda wet so I didn’t

Buzzing I got out my calculator and pens and got ready to absolutely destroy the physics paper. Which I totally did.

IT WAS THE BEST PHYSICS PAPER I EVER DID. I was so pleasantly surprised

As the time was up, I was relieved. It was over. The exam was over, in fact all my exams were over. I WAS FREE AND HAPPY

I got the bus back and couldn’t wait to charge my phone and tell my friends that I made it. However what I saw when I turned on my phone, just really made my day EVEN better

I seem to mention my friends a lot on here, but that’s because most of the time they are the reason why I’m happy. My disappearance due to the dead phone lasted almost 4 hours and all of my friends were ridiculously worried.

They were all so supportive and caring and it was just so lovely! Even my friends that sat the exam were worried enough to ask on our Facebook page about whether I was okay/alive/dead

It was also great to see how happy everyone was when they realised i was alive (they kind of thought I died or got lost somewhere). It just made me realise how much I love them and how amazing my friends are!

So yes, I’m sorry about the depressing post but it doesn’t mean I haven’t been happy today! In fact, even though my day was absolutely horrific to start with, it ended on a pretty amazing note

As well as that, I would like to thank the taxi driver for putting up with me and trying to calm me down

I would also like to thank all my friends

And my mum

And dad

And sister

And my future dog

I love you all

And remember, if you think you’re having a bad day, I doubt it will ever be as bad as this

Day 43: I ate…everything

Firstly I would like to point out that the drawing of me was NOT done by me! I can draw everything but people which is quite sad. Anyway, one of my friends back from my old art class is amazing at drawing people and I asked him if he could draw me and he did (very quickly as well). I AM AMAZED BY THE DRAWING! The hair especially is amazing and it really makes me happy seeing fellow artists creating such amazing drawings!

Since I was at home today, it was more or less expected that my mum was going to surround me with food, left, right and centre! My diet has been going really well, but that always seems to go down hill when I’m home because my mum just feels the need to over feed me! IM NOT COMPLAINING, I love food, it’s honestly amazing, but Im pretty sure food is the reason for why my cheeks are so chubby! Either way, I do love it! So yeah, much happiness

My day has been spent revising for my last exam which is physics and its been more than intense!

After tomorrow however, I will be free again and the thought of that is absolutely amazing

So for now, good bye

Day 42: ONE MORE EXAM

I have my second to last exam today and I’d say it went fairly well! One more exam to go and I’m officially free like a bird again!

To celebrate the fact that I only have one more exam left I decided to go home for a day and refresh my brain a bit!

Welcomed with a wonderful carrot cake, I knew I made the right decision.

Since I’m so close to finishing exams, I’ve spent my whole day making plans with friends for post-exam stuff…i literally cant wait.

One of the things I’m looking forward to a lot is the BASc ball which isnt really a proper ball but its BASc meaning that I could probably go dressed up as a flower or something.

THE REST OF MY DAY TODAY AND TOMORROW WILL BE SPENT DOING HARDCORE PHYSICS

I CAN DO THIS

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH ME… quite literally…because physics

ok bye

Day 41: macro

Sorry, the picture isn’t the right way round but who even cares

All I’ve been doing today is revise macroeconomics, and even though it has been very long and intense it’s made me happy because I’ve started to like it more than I did before, mainly due the fact that it is increasingly making more sense.

Since my day has been so heavily packed with macro I haven’t actually done anything else that’s been too exciting so I will keep this post short!

I however have been told by one of my friends that I’m too happy… Which kind of is a complement and insult at the same time but OH WELL, happiness is good!

Be happy people

It will annoy the people you don’t like
